Biography of Winston Churchill

Born at Blenheim Palace, Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill grew from a young cavalry officer and war correspondent into Britain’s steadfast leader during its darkest hours. As Prime Minister from 1940 to 1945, his stirring speeches and unyielding resolve helped hold freedom’s line against tyranny. A painter, historian, and Nobel Prize winner in Literature, he reminded the world that courage is the first of human qualities. In peacetime he warned of new dangers and championed European unity. After a rich life of service, he passed gently on January 24, 1965. His indomitable spirit continues to echo: “Never give in—never, never, never.”
