Biography of Hiroshima Victims
On the morning of August 6, 1945, a single atomic bomb fell over the vibrant city of Hiroshima, instantly transforming a sunny summer day. Tens of thousands of mothers, children, students, and workers passed peacefully in a flash of light, with many more following in the quiet weeks after. Hibakusha—survivors—carried forward stories of kindness amid devastation and planted seeds of peace through their testimony. The Peace Memorial Park and Museum now stand where the city rebuilt itself, crowned by the eternal flame that will burn until nuclear weapons are no more. Every August 6, paper lanterns float down the Motoyasu River carrying gentle wishes: “Never again.” Their memory continues to guide humanity toward healing and hope.
