Biography of 9/11 Victims

On the bright morning of September 11, 2001, four commercial airplanes were taken over, forever changing the sky above America. Two struck the Twin Towers in New York, one the Pentagon, and the fourth—thanks to courageous passengers—was brought down in a Pennsylvania field. Nearly 3,000 cherished lives from over 90 nations—office workers sharing coffee, firefighters rushing upward, travelers heading home—passed in moments of confusion and bravery. First responders and ordinary people showed extraordinary care for one another. The reflecting pools at the National September 11 Memorial now bear their names, surrounded by swaying trees. Each year beams of light reach heavenward, reminding us that love is stronger than hate and that we go forward together.
